Man admits possessing blade
A MAN admitted possessing a blade in Weston-super-Mare.
Richard Alden was due to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court this week.
The 32-year-old, of Jubilee Road in Weston-super-Mare, pleaded guilty to having an offensive weapon in a public place in the Boulevard on April 10.
Matthew Jackson, defending, told the court that a doctor’s report into Alden’s mental health should be available by the end of this month.
Judge Mark Horton said likely resolution of the case would be either a hospital order or treatment for Alden in the community, with stringent conditions agreed by Alden.
The judge adjourned the case to Monday for a psychiatric report to be made.
Alden was remanded in custody.
