Cricket Winterbour­ne get the better of Stoke Bishop

WINTERBOUR­NE emerged 37-run home victors against Stoke Bishop in the latest round of matches in the Gloucester­shire Vitality U19 T20 in partnershi­p with Stuart Turner.

Ashley Oakes’ 50 (retired) along with 33 from Jack Studley helped Winterbour­ne reach 147-5, Louis Gwilliam claiming 3-19 from four.

Ahmed Tabraiz then produced a fine spell of 4-13 from four as Stoke Bishop were pegged back to 110-9 in this South Performanc­e clash.

Carsons & Mangotsfie­ld’s bowlers also found a good line and length in their South Developmen­t date against Golden Hill who were restricted to 81-9 by Sam Wilson (3-10), James King (2-13) and James Taylor (2-17).

Opener Ollie Louch (43) then led Carsons & Mangotsfie­ld to an eight-wicket win with almost ten overs to spare.

The South Gloucester­shire club were also in fine form away to Frenchay in the Marsh Commercial U16 T20, completing a 45-run victory.

Oli Clatworthy (50 retired) and Ollie Catton (44) powered the visitors to a fine challenge of 173-4 before Tom King (3-0 from one) and Matt Say (2-10) shone with the ball.
