Pub TVs stolen before big match

-

A MAN has been arrested after TVs were stolen from a pub due to air last night’s Euro 2020 semi-final.

Police received reports that thieves were loading two TVs into a white van from a pub on London Road in Warmley at around 5.30am yesterday.

The van drove off towards Bristol and was reported for suspicious activity by an off-duty police officer.

Police stopped the van in Bishopsworth, arresting a man on suspicion of theft. He remains in police custody.

The TVs were returned to the pub – in time for the England v Denmark match last night.

Avon and Somerset Police said: “Thanks to a witness who called foul, and an off-duty PC, we didn’t need extra time to bring home two TVs stolen from a pub .

“This team effort led to the TVs being returned to the pub so football’s still coming home to Warmley.”
