Hockey Clifton Robinsons book place in cup final
CLIFTON Robinsons Ladies qualified for the England Hockey Championships Cup final with a 3-1 win at Repton, with goals from Kathyrn Lane, Claire Thomas and Abi Porter.
This will be the seventh year in a row Clifton have qualified for this particular final, having won it on two previous occasions.
Clifton’s first match of the season was the delayed 2020 final, when they lost 3-2 to Beeston.
They were well placed in the league last season before it was cancelled due to Covid. However, a truncated 2021 Cup championship was in operation as lockdown lifted. Clifton beat BAC Ladies (130), Newquay (6-0), Gloucester City (2-1) and finally Repton (3-1) to quality for the final in Nottingham this Saturday.
