CAPTAIN Marc Lezar hammered 119 off just 74 deliveries for Thornbury, who chased down a target of 233 at home to Dumbleton with almost 15 overs to spare to stay third in WEPL Premier Two Glos/ Wilts.

The 25-year-old shared an opening stand of 182 with brother Dan (66 not out) to help pave the way for a seven-wicket success. Earlier, opener Tommy Boorman topscored on 108 for the visitors as Harry Wormwell (4-49) and Josh Riggs (3-31) made inroads.

Thornbury are now away on Saturday to Stroud, where they will be eager to make up ground on leaders Goatacre, who will be home to second -placed Corsham. » Captain Chris Taylor thumped 145 off only 116 balls (22 fours, four sixes) as Twyford House piled up 334-6 at home to Keynsham before completing a 185-run victory in Bristol & North Somerset.

Mark Fowler also weighed in with 93, sharing a stand of 232 for the fourth wicket with Taylor, ahead of Keynsham finishing well short.

Antony Cains (46) was the visitors’ leading scorer as Fowler (4-34) and Parikshith Shetty (3-11) shone with the ball.

This result keeps Twyford House second, still 38 points behind leaders Golden Hill, who marched on with a five-wicket home success against Brislington.

The visitors battled to 153-9 after winning the toss, with Jon Rogers top-scoring at nine with 45. Dan Broome (3-7 from nine overs) plus Tayyab Riaz and James Norris (both 2-24 from eight) made scoring difficult.
