It was 1991 when a secret plot was hatched by a group of five tightlyknit club chairman to form an elite breakaway league. This documentary charts the evolution of the Premier League from 1992 to 2000.

Football stars including David Beckham and Paul Merson, inset, are among those talking about how football changed in the 90s.

At the same time, media tycoon Rupert Murdoch’s new satellite channel Sky TV was haemorrhaging money, he took a huge gamble, offering millions for new Premier League’s live TV rights.
