District Savory strikes twice in Iron Acton triumph

IRON Acton Reserves are starting to look like potential title challenger­s in the Senior Division following a 4-3 home win against Longwell Green Sports A.

A fourth win in six games this season lifted Iron Acton’s second string to fourth in the table and was secured via strikes from Tom Savory (2), Keaton Cook and Oscar Delreo.

Second-placed Old Sodbury eased to a 9-1 success at Chipping Sodbury A, whose goal came from Andy Paris, while Henbury Reserves battled out a 1-1 draw against Totterdown United Reserves. Lewis Hammond struck for Henbury, with Toby Carter on target for Totterdown.

Sea Mills Park missed the chance to go top of Division One, with Bendix inactive last Saturday, after being held to a 1-1 draw by Lion. Ethan Jury scored for Sea Mills, while Calum Slade scored for

Lion. Arron Turner’s goal gave Brimsham Green a 1-0 home win against DRG SV Frenchay Reserves, while Joseph Hinestroza scored for Seymour United in a 2-1 reverse to Pucklechur­ch Sports. Winterbour­ne United Reserves won 7-3 at home to Tormarton, thanks to goals from Liam Williams (3), Liam Shepard, Mitch Shepard, Sam Vile and Scott Cameron.
