CLEVEDON Town eased into the third round of the FA Vase after an early goal blitz destroyed the hopes of Mangotsfield United at the Everyone Active Stadium.

Clevedon went 3-0 up inside 13 minutes to book a place in the last 64 of the prestigious national competition, and eventually ran out 4-0 winners.

Mitch Osmond opened the scoring in the second minute after collecting a clearance from Mangotsfield goalkeeper Jakob Glover and finding the back of the net from 40 yards out.

Ethan Feltham made it 2-0 following a ninth-minute corner, then Archie Ferris quickly added the third with a curling effort from outside the penalty area.

An Alex Camm penalty early in the second half wrapped up a surprisingly coomfortable win for Clevedon.

In an all-Hellenic League tie, titlechallenging Cribbs won 2-1 against a spirited Thornbury Town at the Mundy Playing Fields.

Marcus Wormwell gave Thornbury the lead a few minutes before halftime, only for Joe Hillard to equalise with a header in first-half stoppagetime.

Ben Bament marked his Cribbs debut with the winning goal when he scored with a 75th-minute volley.

Roman Glass St George’s good Vase run ended with a 3-1 defeat at home to fellow Hellenic League side Corsham Town.

Goals from Dan Demkiv and Nathan Davis put Corsham in command at the break, and although Roman Glass reduced the arrears with a penalty, the visitors sealed a deserved victory via Callum Demkiv’s strike on 80 minutes.
