WAPPING Wharf will be switching on its Christmas lights this week – and organisers are promising a “very special” event this year.

This year’s event will be held on Thursday, kicking off at 5.30pm with carols, and traders will be illuminating their shopfronts from 6.30pm. Shops will remain open until 8pm for latenight shopping, while bars and restaurants will serve diners later, as per their regular opening hours.

Wapping Wharf’s team said: “Join us on Thursday for our annual Christmas light switch-on and a special evening of festivities from 5.30pm to 8pm, where we’ll be bringing you traditional Christmas carols from Bristol Cathedral Choir, late-night shopping at our many local, independent shops, alongside plenty of festive food and drink.”

Revellers will be able to enjoy mulled wine from Corks, hot spiced cider from Cider Box or mulled sangria from Gambas. Cargo Cantina will be serving mezcal mince pies washed down with a mince pie margarita.

There will also be seasonal tasters from Better Food and Clifton Seafood Company.

Other traders will remain open for late-night shopping and there will be plenty of delicious seasonal food and drink options available.
