My heartfelt thanks

-

PLEASE express my heartfelt thanks to the driver and passengers on the X39 bus from Bristol to Bath on Saturday afternoon.

My husband was taken ill when we were on our way to a matinee performance at the Theatre Royal in Bath.

The driver called an ambulance, and together with a couple of other passengers lifted my husband from his seat and laid him on the floor.

Everybody was concerned and helpful, offering their coats as a pillow and drinks of water. One lady phoned the theatre box office to tell them we would not be turning up.

This enabled us to get our ticket money credited. Nobody complained about the disruption to their afternoon.

One young man stayed with us until we went into the Accident and Emergency Department at Bath RUH. The driver went to great lengths to ensure we got to A&E quickly and safely.

It is true that in an emergency most people are kind and unselfish!

My husband is still in hospital, but he will hopefully be home soon.
