Getting ahead with safety

✒ A RECENT correspondent has many harsh words to say about e-scooters.

Ridden properly they are a safe, healthy and economical means of transport and should be encouraged as indicated by a well resourced recent Bristol University survey.

If the police did their job properly this could easily be possible. Comments were also made about helmets! What sort of helmet does your correspondent envisage?

Cycle helmets are only safe up to 12 mph and a high percentage of injuries are facial, nose and chin. Do you want them to all be wearing motorcycle helmets?
