Toolstatio­n/Hellenic Nailsea & Tickenham go top with victory against Almondsbur­y

NAILSEA & Tickenham took over at the top of the Toolstatio­n League First Division with a 3-0 victory at Almondsbur­y.

The Stags shrugged off the midweek loss of top scorer Jack Thorne to Bridgwater United to claim the three points via goals from Luke Osgood, Joseph Berry and Jared Ford.

Wells City dropped off the top after being held to a 1-1 draw at in-form Hengrove Athletic.

Third-placed Brislingto­n maintained their title challenge with a 3-0 victory at Bishop Sutton, with goals from Oaklan Buck, Joe McLennan and Asa White.

Fourth-placed Oldland Abbotonian­s prevented Shirehampt­on going above them in the table with a 5-2 success at the Aitchison Playing Field, having been 2-1 up at half-time.

Owen McCallum, Harry Pruett, with a superb free-kick, Jack Mills, Steff Lee and Cash Vinall scored for Oldland, while Jay Spicer and George Brimson struck for Shire.

A hat-trick from Matt Brown led Longwell Green Sports to an excellent 4-1 home win against a Gillingham side that had been in great form of late. Portishead Town made it three wins out of their past four games with a 3-0 home triumph against Bishops Lydeard, delivered by goals from Calum Townsend (2) and George Fowler.

Aaron Blakemore scored a 56thminute equaliser for Hallen in a 1-1 draw against Bristol Telephones at Moorhouse Lane on Friday night.

A 25-yard strike from Jennison Myrie-Williams was the highlight of a disappoint­ing FC Bristol display as they went down 5-1 at Wincanton Town. AEK Boco lost 1-0 at Warminster Town, who were indebted to a 38th-minute goal from Tyson Pollard.

Tytheringt­on Rocks put a poor run of results behind them with a battling goalless draw at home to Odd Down.

In the Premier Division, Clevedon Town took the three points at home to Torpoint Athletic thanks to a stoppage-time penalty from Alex Camm, which secured a 3-2 victory. Freddie King, in the 21st minute, and Nathaniel Groom, in the 76th minute, had earlier twice put Clevedon in front.

Keynsham Town remain at the foot of the table - but only on goal difference behind Torpoint Athletic - after an impressive 2-1 win against Millbrook at the AJN Stadium. The Cornsih side took a first-minute lead, but Hendry Sady scored a goal in each half to clinch victory for Ks.

Ashton & Backwell United went down 2-1 at Falmouth Town, whose goals were scored by Charlie Edney and Jack Bray-Evans, while Cadbury Heath lost 3-0 at home to ilfracombe Town, who had strikes from Harry Stevens and Jed Harper-Penman, as well as an own goal.

Welton Rovers were trailing 1-0 at Helston Athletic before being reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when Joe Garland was sent off. Helston struck three more times in the closing 13 minutes.

Cribbs stayed top of the Hellenic League Premier Division after a 2-0 victory at Westfields side, with goals from Ben Bament and Aysa Corrick.

Second-placed Malvern Town won 2-1 at Chipping Sodbury Town, who had drawn level through Ellis McSharry’s strike, while two Jaydn Crosbie goals couldn’t save Mangotsfie­ld United from a 5-2 defeat against Worcester Raiders at Cossham Street.

Thornbury Town are still at the foot of the table but will be hugely encouraged by a 2-1 victory at home to fourth-placed Hereford Pegasus. Luke Frankin and Brandon Benjamin fired Thornbury to the three points.

Roman Glass St George drew 3-3 with Brimscombe & Thrupp at Oaklands Park, where five goals came in the last 15 minutes. Roman Glass fought back from 2-0 and 3-2 down to take a point with strikes from Shacquille Smith, Loui Ward and an own goal.
