Tributes paid to ‘much-loved’ grandmother
TRIBUTES have been paid to a ‘very dear’ woman who died in hospital in Bristol after crashing into a tree in Wiltshire.
Emergency services responded to a crash at 2.15pm on Saturday, November 12 following a report that a Suzuki Swift travelling northbound had collided with a tree on the A346 at Cadley, near Marlborough.
Margaret Smith, 82, from Cheltenham, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries but sadly died that day. Police officers shut the route between Salisbury Hill and Wootton Rivers for several hours and motorists were advised to follow alternative routes in the area.
In a tribute, her family said: “Margaret was a very dear and much-loved mum, grandma, sister and friend and we are all shocked and devastated.”
