Sting in fail
Kia has announced it is withdrawing its Stinger GT performance saloon from sale, replacing it with the extremely quick and electric EV6 GT.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Although the Stinger looked really cool and came with a powerful V6 engine, even when it was launched it was a bit of an anachronism. It was pretty thirsty for a start.
The Stinger’s 3.3-litre twin-turbo motor accelerated the car to 62mph in only 4.7sec which made it the quickest Kia ever.
That performance is blitzed by the EV6 GT which with 577bhp does 0-62mph in 3.5sec. Won’t make such a good noise doing so, though.
