Control the sale of boats

-

I’M not convinced that the French want to stop the thousands of illegal immigrants who risk their lives in small boats to cross the Channel and get to this country.

They could be doing much more in my opinion. The object is to cross by the shortest route and so their departure points must be just a short stretch of shoreline, that could be easily monitored with the technical equipment available today.

They can’t come without boats. Where do the despicable people smugglers get these from? They aren’t re-usable, one way only.

Who sells them these boats? And a lot are needed if hundreds of illegal immigrants arrive here each day, many thousands in total so far this year.

Could the sale of these boats be traced and their sales restricted to only those with a genuine reason to buy them? The money we give the French should be more than enough to stop the sale of the boats, patrol the beaches, and supply more fast boats to patrol the short stretch of the shoreline that they depart from each day.
