Unbeaten Academia take over at top of the Premier

BRISTOL Academia moved to the top of the Bristol Premier Sunday League Premier Division with a 3-1 victory against Bristol All Stars at the Netham.

Academia maintained their unbeaten start to the league season thanks to goals from Keanu Downer, Conor Hartley and Jabari Ngozi. Matthew Hoare struck for the All Stars.

Academia took over at the top from FC United of Yate, who had a day to forget in the GFA Sunday Premier Cup as they went down 10-2 at home to Wick Sunday.

Joe Beardwell and Max Williams scored hat-tricks for Wick, whose other goals came from Joseph Cook, Callum Date, Ross Vinall and an own goal. Dariuz Davey was sent off for Yate for two yellows, while three other Yate players were booked.

In the Kahuna Flooring Cup, BAWA Sports beat AFC Sodbury 5-2, thanks to strikes from Kyle Porter (2), Ben Fenton, Sam Squirrell and Samuel Dufosee.

In the only Division Two game played, leaders Sporting QTAC were held to a goalless draw by lowly Hambrook United.

In a GFA Minor Cup tie, Sodbury won 7-4 at home to Rising

Albion Sun.

Cato Dacres, Tyler Dacres and Luke Henderson all struck twice for Albion, whose other goal came from Callum Pillinger, while Aaron Sullivan-Bissett (2), James Carey and Nathan Meredith were on target for Rising Sun.

Four goals from Mason Davis and two from Adam Brown led Bristol Jaguars to a 9-1 victory at Digital Dash. Adam Baker, Ashley Brown and Jamie Thomas also scored for Jaguars, with Michael Kettle on target for Dash.

In Division Three, North Bristol Victory Reserves won 2-1 at BEMS, while Calum Davies-Smith scored twice as Shadwell Rovers won 4-1 at Starfield United. Martin Stevens and Andrew Webber scored the other Victory goals.

In Division Four, leaders Fishponds Town Wizards won 3-0 against De Veys 1923, with goals from Szymon Piatkowski, Timothy Rutherford and Duaine Harrison.
