Toolstatio­n/Hellenic Brilliant Bris crowned First Division champions

BRISLINGTO­N were crowned Toolstatio­n League First Division champions after a 2-0 derby victory on the 3G pitch at Longwell Green Sports’ Shellards Road ground.

A magnificen­t 25th win in a row, in all competitio­ns, secured the title for a Brislingto­n side also through to the Les Phillips Cup semi-finals, in which they will play Shepton Mallet away on May 3.

Oaklan Buck eased any Brislingto­n nerves with a half-volley finish in the 21st minute, and he set up Danny Dodimead for a close-range second in the 36th minute.

At the other end of the table, Tytheringt­on Rocks and Almondsbur­y both gained valuable points in their battles to avoid bottom spot. A Ryan Sharpe strike gave Rocks a 1-0 win at bottom side Bishops Lydeard, while a 24thminute Louis Ward penalty gave Almondsbur­y the lead at secondplac­ed Wells City, although the Somerset side hit back to draw 1-1.

Third-placed Nailsea & Tickenham drew 0-0 at Bishop Sutton, and fourth-placed Oldland Abbotonian­s, anopther side guaranteed a play-off place, had goals from Jack Mills and Aaron Mansfield in a 2-2 home draw against Cheddar.

AEK Boco came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at home to FC Bristol, thanks to goals from George Lloyd, Zac Young and Ollie Williams. Sacha Tong scored both FC Bristol goals but had a penalty saved by Kai Wilson.

James Batch and Archie Dark were on taret for Bristol Telephones in a 2-2 home draw against Odd Down.

Portishead Town had goals from Caolan Pearce, Sam Butcher and Ben Greenslade in a 3-2 success at Gillingham, having been 2-1 down, while Scott Bamford’s double gave Shirehampt­on a 2-1 win at Radstock Town.

Goals from Will Banks and Jack Jones gave Hengrove Athletic an excellent 2-0 win at Wincanton Town, but Hallen lost 1-0 at Warminster Town.

Mousehole look set to win the Premier Division crown after a 3-0 win at relegation battlers Keynsham Town, while title rivals Saltash United lost to a stoppageti­me strike at Clevedon Town.

On the 4G pitch at the AJN Stadium, Tallin Mitchell and Hayden Turner scored close to half-time to put Mousehole two up against Keynsham, and Paulo Sousa added a third on 68 minutes.

At the Everyone Active Stadium, Archie Ferris fired Clevedon ahead in the 71st minute after being set up by Freddie King. George Spencer appeared to have rescued a point for Saltash with an 89th-minute equaliser, but Ferris struck again in the first minute of stoppage-time after latching on to a through ball from Zac Feltham. Cadbury Heath remain at the foot of the table after a 2-0 home defeat by Helston.

In the Hellenic League, champions Cribbs hit the 100-point mark with a 1-0 win at Fairford Town, secured by Steve Murray’s 75thminute penalty. Cribbs had sealed the title just two days earlier with a 1-0 win at Wantage Town. Malvern Town assured themselves of the runners-up spot after a 2-1 win against Mangotsfie­ld United at Cossham Street.

Harry Clark gave Malvern a 33rdminute lead, and although Oli Jenkins equalised with a 49th-minute header, Joe Bullock won it for the visitors when he nodded home following a corner in the 85th minute.

Chipping Sodbury Town remain one point and one place above Bradford Town at the bottom - with both teams having one game left following a 2-2 draw at home to Hereford Pegasus.

Josh Pandolfino twice equalised for Sodbury, with the second goal coming in the 90th minute.
