Suburban Filton make it 33 league games unbeaten with draw against Spartak

FILTON Athletic the Premier Division leaders, took their unbeaten league run to 33 games - their last defeat was November 2022 - with a 1-1 home draw against Bristol Spartak.

Kieran Cooper struck for Filton, while Luke Trowbridge was on target for Spartak.

Filton hold a 10-point lead at the top and are on target to complete a league and cup double and to make the Gloucester­shire County League play-offs.

Second-placed Wessex Wanderers, having won their previous seven games, lost 3-2 at fifth-placed Stoke Gifford United Reserves. Tom Trimble and Khan Miller were the Wessex marksmen.

In an amazing 13-goal game at Sir Bernard Lovell School, visitors Broad Plain House edged out Redbridge 7-6. Scott Mills led the scoring for Redbridge with a hattrick, with Sam Preston, Enes Ozturk and Sam Moss also on the scoresheet.

Easton Cowboys, the Alf Bosley Cup finalists, stayed in sixth place despite losing 2-1 against Rockleaze Rangers Reserves at Hillside Gardens.

Southmead CS Athletic had strikes from Fraser Emanuel and Jack Stone in a 2-0 win at Old Cothamians.

St Vallier, the Senior Division leaders, need three points from their final three games to become champions.

It is close for the second promotion spot with second-placed Jamaica Bell having their game

abandoned against Parson Street OB when leading 2-0.

Third-placed Mendip Broadwalk Reserves are three points behind with a game in hand. They won their derby with Hartcliffe FC 3-1, with goals from Jay Tummon, Alex Graham and Aaron Selby.

Filton Athletic Reserves, the GFA Junior Cup finalists, went down 1-0 at the Field against Almondsbur­y Reserves.

In Division One, leaders Rockkeaze Rangers A were without a game. Second-placed Avonmouth

Reserves had a 4-1 win at Bromley Heath United Reserves.

Two other teams are in contention with many games in hand. Third-placed Cosmos beat Bristol Phoenix 7-0 with a hat-trick from Oli Lura, two goals from Cata Dragotoiu and one apiece from Dean Lapham and Ionel Popescu.

Broad Plain House Reserves, the Norman Goulding Cup finalists, have six games in hand and are eight points behind the leaders following a 1-0 win at fourth-placed Little Stoke Reserves. Cadbury Heath Reserves and Phoenix NG played a double fixture with both teams getting three points. Darryl Towler in a 2-1 win, with NG winning the other game 2-0.

Assan Sowe (2), Cam Brice, Dray Collins and Matt Williams were on target for Wessex Wanderers Reserves in 5-1 win at Division Two leaders Rockleaze Rangers B.

Second-placed Saltford Reserves took full advantage of the Rockleaze slip up, winning 5-2 at FC Union Bristol.

Third-placed Imperial Reserves beat Mendip Broadwalk A 4-2 to stay in contention for the promotion positions.

At Somerdale, fourth-placed Old Georgians improved their chance of promotion by edging out Hanham Abbotonian­s Reserves 4-3.

In a double fixture, Division Three leaders Socius United scored 17 goals against Bristol Phoenix Reserves without reply.

In the first game, the United won 9-0, thanks to goals from Sam Payne (3), Mark Slateford (2), Micah Gayle (2), Dave Bennett and an own goal. In the second game, Socius won 8-0, with goals from Jack Szur (2), Payne, Gayle, Josh Knight, Jason Holness, Dan Edwards and an own goal.

Old Georgians Reserves gained four points in a double fixture with Port of Bristol, winning 2-0 and drawing 0-0.

In another double fixture, Bitton A and Rockleaze Rangers had a win each. Bitton won 2-0 and Rockleaze had a 3-0 victory.

Stoke Gifford United A beat Little Stoke A 5-3 at North Road.

Southmead CS Athletic Reserves m the Division Four leaders, had their game postponed due to a waterlogge­d pitch. Second-placed Bedminster Down A beat AJA Athletic 3-1, with goals from Mackenzie Gazzard, Damon James-Palmer and Billy Edwards.

AC Moose dropped two points in their quest for promotion, sharing two goals with Bromley Heath United A.

Third-placed Avonmouth A won 5-2 at Phoenix NG Reserves, while Easton Cowboys A won 3-1 at home to Bristol Wanderers.
