SAINTS Old Boys look poised to become Downs League champions after a 3-0 win against Clifton St Vincents.

Goals from Braidie Cole, Elliot Lake and Danny Slade gave Saints victory in their penultimate match of the Division One season.

Sporting Greyhounds, nine points behind with three games in hand, could still mathmatically catch the leaders but it would need a big swing in goal difference and Saints to slip up against Sneyd Park in their last match.

Sporting Greyhounds stayed in the chase with a 4-0 win against Ashley, thanks to goals from Stefan Hunt (2), James Ivall and Jack Woods.

Sneyd Park had goals from Chris Revell and Marco Scozzafava to thank for a 2-0 win against Torpedo.

Jack Cooper’s hat-trick fired Retainers to a 3-2 win against Jersey Rangers and lifted them above Clifton St Vincents at the foot of the table.

Portland OB beat Sporting Turin 3-1, with goals from Jonty Kingston, Jasper Stokes-Johnson and Ben Wylie. Ben Gibbs scored for Turin.

Sneyd Park Reserves remain favourites to win the Division Two title despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Torpedo Reserves, for whom Paul Woods scored twice.

Saints OB Reserves, a point behind Sneyd having played one game more, had four goals from Will Truscott in a 5-3 success against Old Cliftonians.

Relegation battlers Evergreen Athletic gained a crucial 2-0 win against Sporting Greyhounds Reserves, while NCSF United defeated Phoenix Downs 2-1.

Torpedo A beat Saints OB A 1-0 to move three points clear of them at the top of Division Three. Scott Longdon scored for Torpedo.

Third-placed Sneyd Park A won 5-2 against Bengal Tigers, Clifton St Vincents A overcame Ashley Reserves 2-1, while Helios beat Jersey Rangers Reserves 4-2.

Three teams remain in contention for the Division Four title. Leaders Saints OB B drew 2-2 with NCSF United Reserves, second-placed Sneyd Park B won 5-2 against Stoneleigh Park Rangers, while fourth-placed Retainers Reserves still have a chance of the title despite losing 5-2 against Cotham

OB.
