The Fontmell, a short drive from Shaftesbury, is the best place to eat in these parts. The menu changes daily but typical dishes are pan-roasted lamb with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal greens, or Dorset cider-battered fish with homemade tartar sauce and chips.
