af­ter be­ing closed for al­most six­months of ren­o­va­tions fol­low­ing dam­age caused by flash floods Great Mis­senden’s much-loved roald dahl Mu­seum has re­opened. a down­pour over the late May Bank hol­i­day week­end forced the frump­tious fam­ily at­trac­tion to close its willy wonka-style cho­co­late doors to vis­i­tors whilst es­sen­tial re­pairs took place. for­tu­nately, the flood dam­age was lim­ited ited to one end of the site and so roald dahl’s ar­chive and his world-fa­mous writ­ing hut were un­harmed. how­ever, the story cen­tre Gallery has had to be com­pletely stripped out – in­clud­ing the floor – and re­built from scratch. our Pho­tog­ra­pher GRA­HAME LARTER was lucky enough to be given a tour of the newly ren­o­vated gal­leries.
