FOOTBALL CHESHAM United Ladies claimed a 5-1 win away to Poole as they remain fifth in the FAWNL Division One South West table.
Gemma Fraser’s early chances were thwarted by Poole’s standout goalkeeper, who prevented numerous attempts on goal.
The home side broke the deadlock, as a deflection from Dawne Campbell was the only way they could beat Lucia Delves.
Fraser, Kat Bowers and Tash Smith were all denied and Poole were more than capable of grabbing a second, but continuous pressing by Emma Bebbington pinned the home side back and Fraser grabbed an equaliser after the goalkeeper saved her first attempt, before following up on the rebound.
In the second-half, Emma Delves played the ball to Gemma Darvill, who found Bebbington racing down the wing.
Her cross was met by Fraser, who volleyed into the corner.
Niamh Euman entered the action for Kirsty Gladwin and soon got in on the goals, finishing well midway through the half again after great work from Bebbington.
The ball was worked into the box and it fell to Lidia NiedertubbesingLopez, who had no problem beating the goalkeeper, firing into the corner for her first senior goal of the season.
Fraser had a couple of chances to grab her hat-trick, but Poole’s goalkeeper made a double save and the ball fell to Smith to wrap up the points.
