Hoping for a green light
I was interested to read the feature on Paul and Belinda Wilson’s eco project on your website, as I’m currently applying for permission to build 10 Passivhaus homes on my own land. The site is outside of the settlement boundary and I am hoping that, in conjunction with the latest Greater Norwich Local Plan, we will be able to secure planning for this development. This is something I’ve been working on for over seven years. It is really good to hear that building to this standard does actually pay off for people, even if it is just one dwelling!

Editor’s reply: ere are many benefits to building to Passivhaus standard: it eliminates drafts, reduces energy bills and maintains good air quality, so it’s great that self builders are taking an interest. Just bear in mind that sustainability in planning terms doesn’t always mean eco! We hope you get the go ahead to start your ambitious new development.
