WE LEARNED...

Build It - - READERS’ HOMES -

ENSURE YOU stick to your project plan. Chase contractors to ensure that everything remains on schedule and you stay in control of timings.

UNDERTAKE DAILY or weekly meetings as required to ensure that everyone’s understandings are aligned. This will eliminate possibilities of crossed wires that could lead to setbacks.

ADDRESS SNAGGING as you go. Correcting defects as they arise will limit the amount of changes you have to make at the end of the build process.

IF YOU CAN, move out and store furniture while works are being carried out. This was a lesson for us for the future. It’s very difficult to live in a property while a construction project is underway.
