DIY disasters are costing the economy millions
Research by Myjobquote.co.uk has revealed that one in six Britons who have undertaken a home improvement project in the last year have hurt themselves in the process, costing the NHS an estimated £222m from A&E visits. Power drills, ladders and general tools were the main items involved in the mishaps. Two thirds of those injured have had to stay home from work as a result – typically amounting to three days off.
