e glazed structure creates a clear break between the original building and the new addition. “Touching the existing property lightly with the glass means that no part of the listed element is taken over, while still allowing full views to the barn”, says Adam Knibb, the architect who worked on the project. “We felt that the connection needed to be as delicate as possible, so we wanted to minimise any framework in the glass. Single sheets of glazing were specified to span the whole distance”.
