Brits lack basic home safety knowledge

The Consumer Protection Alliance has found that 44% of Brits do not carry out annual safety checks on their electrical appliances. The research showed that 42% don’t know how to get equipment checked, over a third are not aware of what needs looking at and almost a quarter simply can’t be bothered to do so. 28% of respondents would wait until something had completely broken before getting it assessed and 26% would organise a check-up only after they heard about a friend’s appliance breaking.
