Even at the outset of the project, George and Rebekah knew they wanted to achieve a crisp, modern look. Aluminium-framed windows were chosen to help create this effect, and they work beautifully with the reclaimed bricks and cedar covering that form the rest of the external palette of finishes. “We’ve always loved timber cladding and we wanted to include it in our plans even before we knew what we were going to do”, says Rebekah. George laid some of the planks himself, as he wanted to get stuck in and contribute to the project’s progress rather than waiting for an additional couple of weeks until Dell Developments could do the job. e Burns are happy with all the products they chose, as they feel each one contributes to the clean, contemporary effect.
