Zoned illumination...

Good lighting is very hard to achieve, and is something you should budget for from the outset of the project. Helen used a lighting designer to cleverly zone the different areas of the open-plan ground floor. A large pendant light with a shiny copper coloured coating inside gives a warm glow over the sofas in the sitting room area, while two minimalist pendant lights illuminate the kitchen island. Up and down lighters are also used in the main space and in the landing, spreading soft light over the walls.
