UK homes fall short of efficiency targets

-

Data analysed by the BBC shows that over 12 million houses nationwide are in need of retrofit measures in order to meet climate targets set by the government, which aim for the UK to be zero carbon by 2050. EPC targets measure efficiency by looking at the insulation, glazing and alternative ways of reducing energy use. Currently, two-thirds of buildings in the country do not meet the grade C efficiency baseline, meaning there’s still huge amounts of work to do to overhaul the housing stock.
