Build It

Is there an alternative to self build mortgages for my dream home?

-

I would like to build my own home but do not have enough money to finance the scheme outright. This being said, I don’t plan on taking out a self build mortgage; is there another way that I can borrow money?

A self build project doesn’t always need a mortgage. ere are other borrowing options available which might be more suited to you, and choosing the right one can ensure that the journey to your new home is as smooth and simple as possible.

If you have enough equity in your current home or own it outright, you could remortgage or secure a bridging loan to pay for the plot, fund your build costs or both. en when your new home is finished, you can sell your old one to pay off the loan.

is way you can stay in your current home during the build and avoid the upheaval of moving, living on site or renting during the build. I recommend you speak to an expert mortgage adviser who can talk you through the right borrowing solution to suit your needs and circumstances.
