Stamp duty savings boost renovations
Potential house-movers are expected to save a huge £38.1 billion nationally thanks to the chancellor’s stamp duty holiday – an average of £5,219 per person. New research from Checkatrade (www.checka trade.com) shows that 43% of Brits who are considering buying or have moved to a new house are planning to invest the extra funds into renovating the property, or updating particular zones. A brand new kitchen tops the list, followed by creating a new bathroom or living space.
