Over 440,000 plots locked by developers

According to a new data analysis by Stripehomes, Britain’s biggest volume house builders are sitting on 441,702 potential building plots, as of 2020. While self builders continue to struggle to find viable building sites, these companies have enough land to exceed the government’s yearly housebuilding target of 300,000 new homes. Unlocking even a fraction of these unused plots would open the door for better quality, genuinely deliverable self and custom build homes and communities.
