MARCH PLANNED IN PROTEST AGAINST SEX TEXT SHAME MP
A BURTON woman who is a writer and speaker on the forensic psychology of sexual violence says she feels MP Andrew Griffith’s 2,000 texts show “lack of respect for thousands of women he represents”.
Jessica Eaton, an international researcher, writer and speaker on the forensic psychology of sexual violence, is working with a group to organise a demonstration calling for the resignation of the Conservative MP for Burton and Uttoxeter.
She feels the public has been left with no option but to call for him to step down following the publication of details that he sent 2,000 sleazy text messages, many of which are too disgusting to print.
Disgraced Mr Griffiths stood down as Minister for Small Business ahead of the Sunday Mirror publishing the story about him sending the messages barmaid Imogen Treharne, 28, and a pal. However he has refused to resign as an MP.
Among the explicit messages, he sent was one saying: “Daddy has been up making speeches and running the country. But what he really wants to be doing is ******* naughty girls’ *******.” In another one he said: “I want her to own you. I want her to tie you up and beat that gorgeous big ass while daddy watches.” “Imogen ****, it’s about time you treated with some respect. I’m the boss here.”
“Are you going to hold XXX down for me while daddy gives her a beating?” “Did she properly belt you? I hope she bruised you.” Married father-of-one Mr Griffiths has apologised for his behaviour. Now, Mrs Eaton has said she feels the message demonstrate a “lack of respect for thousands of women he represents”.
She said: “Myself and others are in the process of organising a demonstration against Andrew Griffiths due to the level of sadistic violence he has endorsed and claimed to enjoy in which he speaks about beating women, paying women to perform sex acts and refers to himself as their ‘Daddy’ despite having himself, a little girl.
“The thousands of messages, many of which the public have not seen because they are ‘too disgusting to print’ by the mainstream media, left us with no option but to call for the resignation of our MP. But, rather than doing the right thing and understanding that if he is not fit for his ministerial position then he is arguably not fit to be our MP, he has refused to resign.
“This demonstrates a lack of respect for the thousands of women he ‘represents’ – who have been appalled by his violent fantasies and the humiliation and degradation of women and ‘girls.’
“We no longer have faith in this man to lead us in an ethical and moral approach. We demand better than this.
“The demonstration is about making sure the general population are aware of the views Andrew Griffiths holds about women and how this affects his position to be our MP. With between 49 to 51 per cent of our population being female, he has shown massive disrespect and misogyny towards us all.”
