Squishies recalled over choking risk

Burton Mail - - News -

SQUISHIES are amazingly popular among children but one has been recalled after it has been reported as a choking hazard.

The toy shaped like a cake is deigned to relieve stress. However, its realistic appearance could mean that kids mistake it for real food.

The toy is made in China and has now been categorised as a “serious risk” by the European Commission, reports the Daily Mirror.

They said the products do not comply with the requirements of the Food-imitating Products Directive and the Toy Safety Directive.

Authorities said a child could easily mistake the Squishy for food because of the shape, colour, appearance and size of the toy.

The squishies are sold in store such as Claire’s, The Works, as well as toy stores and online via Amazon and eBay.

The recalled cake shaped squishy has an item number of 67887.
