Burger chain helps families of sick kids
BURTON and Swadlincote branches of McDonald’s have raised funds to help families stay closer to their sick children.
A campaign entitled Keep Families Close has been running across Staffordshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Warwickshire, raising £4,000.
This has been led by the Ronald McDonald House Charities, the restaurants charity arm, to build and run centres across the United Kingdom for accommodation for the families of children being treated in hospital.
The families are able to stay close to youngsters as they undergo treatment.
Burton’s McDonald’s restaurant, in Station Street, held events including a Halloween-themed dress-up, apple bobbing, cake sales, tombola and raffles to raise cash for the cause.
Craig Roberts, the area manager for McDonald’s, said: “we are delighted to have raised this money to support such a great campaign.”
