Vil­lage stages can­dle­light pro­ces­sion

TO mark 100 years since the end of the First World War, a Der­byshire par­ish coun­cil is or­gan­is­ing a can­dle­light pro­ces­sion that takes place to­day at 6pm.

The pro­ces­sion will start at Lea Pri­mary School, Church Street, Hol­loway, and fin­ish at the Florence Nightin­gale Memo­rial Hall on Yew Tree Hill, where re­fresh­ments will be pro­vided.

Two hun­dred LED can­dles will be pro­vided at the start of the event, and peo­ple are urged to get there for 5.50pm.

Dethick, Lea and Hol­loway Par­ish Coun­cil is hop­ing for a good turnout and has urged res­i­dents to sup­port the pro­ces­sion.

It also says real can­dles are now al­lowed.
