Ice­land ad ‘banned’

SU­PER­MAR­KET Ice­land has seen its Christ­mas ad­vert blocked from TV for be­ing too po­lit­i­cal.

The com­mer­cial, voiced by ac­tress Emma Thomp­son and orig­i­nally pro­duced by Green­peace, fea­tures a car­toon orang­utan and high­lights the plight of the rain­for­est. Reg­u­la­tor Clearcast said it was “con­cerned” that it “doesn’t com­ply” with leg­is­la­tion on po­lit­i­cal ad­ver­tis­ing.

Ice­land posted the “banned” clip on­line and it has since re­ceived thou­sands of shares on so­cial me­dia.

Singer Ch­eryl LIAM Payne has con­grat­u­lated his ex Ch­eryl on her new sin­gle Love Made Me Do It.He hailed the singer’s first re­lease in four years on Twit­ter and said: “Can’t wait for every­one to hear the rest.”
