Ne­whall club’s quar­tet all bring back medals from world champs

ALL four of Ne­whall-based club Fight Sta­tion’s rep­re­sen­ta­tives at the In­ter­na­tional Com­bat Or­gan­i­sa­tion World Cham­pi­onships in Rome came home with medals.

Seven­teen-year-old Tia Holder and 10-year-old Madi­son Townsend both won gold medals, Holder in the ring light con­tin­u­ous cat­e­gory and Townsend in the 8-10 years ring light con­tin­u­ous.

Both also won sil­ver medals in the mat light con­tin­u­ous cat­e­gory, in which Townsend stepped up an age group to 11-12 years.

Macken­zie Eames, aged 15, won sil­ver medals for ring light con­tin­u­ous and boxing and a bronze medal in ring light con­tin­u­ous.

Caitlin New­bor­ough (20) won a sil­ver medal in ring light con­tin­u­ous.

All four have been trained by for­mer world cham­pion Adam Stret­ton at the 10-year-old club at Over­setts Road, Ne­whall.
