MAKEOVER FOR STRATFORD HOTEL
HOTEL Indigo Stratford-uponAvon, formerly The Falcon Hotel, will officially open on February 4 after a multi-million pound restoration project.
The Grade II-listed timbered building, which dates from the 16th century, has 93 guest rooms designed on three themes: Contemporary, Georgian and Tudor. NEW DIRECT FLIGHTS TO CANADA
AIR Transat (airtransat.com) will be offering travellers from the UK services to six Canadian destinations from May 1, 2019.
Direct flights will be available from Manchester, London Gatwick and Glasgow to Toronto; from Manchester and London Gatwick to Vancouver; and from London Gatwick to Calgary and Montreal, along with a range of connecting services via Toronto and Montreal to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Quebec City. And it is possible to land in one Canadian city and return from another at no extra cost – for example, a holiday in Montreal can be combined with a visit to Vancouver and nearby Whistler.
LUXURY HOTEL FOR CARDIFF
NEW levels of luxury have come to Cardiff with the arrival of the Voco St David’s, the brand’s first European hotel.
The opening of the 142-room property, perched on the waterfront at Cardiff Bay, marks the start of rapid expansion for Voco – “to invite” in Latin – which forms part of the InterContinental group, with plans to open a further 15 hotels in the coming months (vocohotels.com).
