Bicycle is stolen from outside a coffee house

BURTON cyclists have been sent a warning after a bike was stolen from outside a Burton coffee house.

The black Carrera Sawcapper Silver, valued around £200, was taken from outside Costa Coffee, at The Octagon shopping centre.

The theft took place between 10am and 1pm on Thursday.

Officers were called to the scene at around 1.30pm.

PCSO Ben Harrison has warned cyclists in Burton to ensure their bikes are secure and invest in higherqual­ity

locks.

He said: “We have had a report of a theft of a push bike from outside of Costa Coffee in Burton.

“Please make sure if you are travelling to the town on a bike that you bring a relevant lock with you.

“Also, the main bikes which are being stolen are Carrerra push bikes locked up with cheap locks.”

Anyone with informatio­n about the bike stolen on Thursday is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 350 of December 6.
