Mystery faces to name at the annual dinner of British Road Services

TODAY we take a trip back to the 1950s and 1960s thanks to these images shared by reader Ed Roe.

These photographs were originally taken by the Burton Mail and were then purchased by the family as they show various annual dinners and long-service presentations for the Lichfield Street-based branch of British Road Services.

Among the faces pictured are Mr Roe’s father, Les, and mother, Winifred.

Les Roe is easily recognised in the top picture on the opposite page.

He is seated wearing thick-framed glasses, a bow tie, black jacket and with his arms folded. Winifred is stood on his right.

Mr Roe appears in all of the photographs.
