A SIMPLE FAVOUR (15) ★★★★★
THIS is a sinfully entertaining comedy thriller, which blends a fruity cocktail of Hitchcockian whodunnit and gnarly black comedy, garnished with generous twists of spite and betrayal.
Paul Feig shows a deft touch behind the camera and he elicits winning performances from the female leads.
Pitch Perfect powerhouse Anna Kendrick, left, is the mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth when fellow school mum and neighbour Emily (Blake Lively) goes suddenly missing from their small town.

THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS (12) ★★★★★
ADAPTED from John Bellairs’ novel, The House With A Clock In Its Walls is an entertaining and outlandish yarn.

He learns his relative and his neighbour, Mrs Zimmerman (Cate Blanchett), are powerful practioners of the magic arts. THE PREDATOR (15) ★★★★★
THE Predator is a pyrotechnic-laden tale of “interstellar cops and robbers”, which resuscitates the franchise with a whimper rather than a bang.
Young, gifted child Rory (Jacob Tremblay, left), accidentally triggers the return of ‘The Predator’ to Earth when he tinkers with a package that contains alien technology his dad sent to their home from a recent military mission.
With the government trying to cover up Predator incursions on Earth, a rag-tag group of military veterans fight to save the world as the battle spreads from outer space to suburbia.
