Police warning to people who filmed A38 accident
POLICE have said that drivers who filmed a crash on the A38 will be prosecuted.
An accident involving a van and a lorry caused 30-minute delays on the A38 between Burton and Derby on Thursday.
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit (DRPU) said that some drivers had “only slowed down to film it on their mobile phones”.
When the accident had
cleared, at around 8.30am, DRPU took to Twitter to warn some “inconsiderate” drivers that they would be prosecuted and given six points if they were caught filming the scene.
They said: “This incident is now clear. Just going back to the station to print Notices of Intended Prosecution for the drivers who only slowed down to film it on their mobile phones.
“Completely inconsiderate of those involved and those working in the road. Six points en route.”
Nobody was injured in the accident, which temporarily closed one lane.
Traffic caused by the crash, near the A5121 Clay Mills junction was worsened by another collision which closed the M42 near Burton, in which a pedestrian was killed.
