Cases heard recently before Southern Derbyshire magistrates
Leighton Burrell, 34, of Short Street, Stapenhill, admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in Burton on March 17. Admitted breaching a suspended sentence imposed for three charges of assault.
Made the subject of a 12-month community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement and 150 hours’ unpaid work. Banned from driving for 12 months. Ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Diana Heck, 32, of The Fairway, Newhall, admitted resisting a police officer in the execution of her duty and assaulting a second police officer, in Swadlincote on February 26.
Made the subject of an eight-week jail sentence suspended for 12 months because she was drinking, and was out of control and tried to bite an officer. It was aggravated by her record and committed while subject of a post sentence supervision order and a conditional discharge.
Ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
Ashley Mountford, 30, of Waterloo Street, Burton, admitted stealing a bottle of whisky worth £39.45 from Tesco, Burton, on March 20. Made the subject of a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Martin Howe, 38, of Meadow View Road, Newhall, admitted possession of cannabis in Swadlincote on December 28, 2017.
Admitted producing a quantity of cannabis on the same date. Made the subject of a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Adrian Sellers, 37, of High Street, Burton, found guilty of assaulting a female in Burton on October 11. Made the subject of an 18-month community order with a fourmonth curfew of between 7pm and 7am.
Ordered to pay £100 compensation, £300 court costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
