Sleep-out to change this year due to pandemic, says YMCA

-

BURTON YMCA’S sponsored sleep-out will not be going ahead in its usual fashion, it has been revealed.

For the past 11 years volunteers have spent one night in November sleeping in cardboard boxes to raise money for the homeless charity.

It has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds in the past, but this year there will be changes.

Due to social distancing measures because of Covid-19, the charity has said it will be offering a different version of the sleepout this year and is now getting details together.

It also said the impact of the pandemic on the charity will be felt for a long time, with the potential loss of income from more than 15 events including the London Marathon.
