Outdoor gym gets extra equipment

WINSHILL Conservative councillors on East Staffordshire Borough Council have been successful in seeing their plans for outdoor gym equipment on Newton Road Park come to fruition.

Opened last Saturday in line with the rest of the borough’s parks, they say the gym equipment is a great addition to the facilities available including some of the latest items which will be unique to Staffordshire.

The equipment has been installed alongside the basketball and tennis courts which have also been resurfaced and are due to be re-fenced soon.

Councillor Edward Barker, cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: “We have long felt the need to add further facilities on Newton Road park thereby increasing the health and wellbeing of all our residents.

“I am delighted that we can invest in such fantastic equipment to help maintain the fitness and health of everyone.

“Councillors Faulkner, Metcalfe and Wileman are pleased to be instrumental in the installation.”
