Police appeal after yob targets birds

A YOB was seen throwing stones at birds at a beauty spot near Swadlincot­e.

Police have now launched an appeal after officers received a report of anti-social behaviour at Albert Village Lake.

Police officers from North West Leicesters­hire say they received a report about someone spotted throwing stones at birds at the lake and acting in an aggressive manner towards wildlife.

The incident was reported at around 4.30pm on Saturday, July 4. Now officers are appealing to anyone at the lake at the time who saw anything to get in touch.

A spokesman for the police said on a Facebook post:

“Appeal - were you a witness? Were you at Albert Village Lake on Saturday, July 4 at around 4.30pm? We have received a report of some antisocial behaviour at the above location, this report was specifical­ly in relation to wildlife.

“Did you see/hear anything? If so please make contact with us and raise it for the attention of PC 237 Emma Holmes from our Rural Crime Team.”
