Po­lice ap­peal af­ter yob tar­gets birds

A YOB was seen throw­ing stones at birds at a beauty spot near Swadlin­cote.

Po­lice have now launched an ap­peal af­ter of­fi­cers re­ceived a re­port of anti-so­cial be­hav­iour at Al­bert Vil­lage Lake.

Po­lice of­fi­cers from North West Le­ices­ter­shire say they re­ceived a re­port about some­one spot­ted throw­ing stones at birds at the lake and act­ing in an ag­gres­sive man­ner to­wards wildlife.

The in­ci­dent was re­ported at around 4.30pm on Satur­day, July 4. Now of­fi­cers are ap­peal­ing to any­one at the lake at the time who saw any­thing to get in touch.

A spokesman for the po­lice said on a Face­book post:

“Ap­peal - were you a wit­ness? Were you at Al­bert Vil­lage Lake on Satur­day, July 4 at around 4.30pm? We have re­ceived a re­port of some an­ti­so­cial be­hav­iour at the above lo­ca­tion, this re­port was specif­i­cally in re­la­tion to wildlife.

“Did you see/hear any­thing? If so please make con­tact with us and raise it for the at­ten­tion of PC 237 Emma Holmes from our Ru­ral Crime Team.”
