Big names coming to designer outlet that’s just 40 minutes away
THE first big-name brands heading to a new designer shopping outlet not far from Burton have been revealed ahead of its opening.
Mcarthurglen announced Tommy Hilfiger, Reiss, Kurt Geiger, Guess, Calvin Klein and Ted Baker would all have stores at its Designer Outlet West Midlands.
They will be joined by Adidas, and kitchen favourite, Le Creuset. Starbucks and Wagamama were also confirmed as the first food and drink outlets.
All ten brands have started preparations for recruitment, with vacancies set to be advertised online in the next few weeks.
Mcarthurglen Designer Outlet West Midlands, in Cannock, is due to open early in 2021, with the £160 million development creating 1,000 jobs and offering shoppers yearround savings of up to 60 per cent.
More brands will be announced as the centre gears up for opening.
Work at the site is nearing completion, with internal fit-outs now under way. Outside, the 1,400-space car park is now finished and work to create a children’s play area is also progressing.
Mike Thomas, centre manager for Mcarthurglen Designer Outlet West Midlands, said: “It will deliver one of the UK’S finest retail destinations, with the very best mix of high street, premium, designer and international brands, each of them a wellknown and much-loved household name.
“We’re also creating 1,000 retail jobs for the local community, so we’re delighted to be announcing this first set of brands both for our future visitors and those excited about working at the centre.”
Councillor George Adamson, leader of Cannock Chase Council, added: “It is very exciting to hear the first set of brands at Mcarthurglen Designer Outlet West Midlands and I hope our local residents are pleased too.
“It makes it very real now that this will be opening early next year. It is going to be the making of our district as well as bringing much needed jobs for the local community.”
