ARMED police were seen swarming into Burton after reports that men had armed themselves with weapons.

Firearm units were initially sent to Masefield Crescent in Horning low on Monday night but were also deployed to other areas around town.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing them in Anslow and in Tutbury Road, Burton.

Four people, including a 15-yearold boy, have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

An eyewitness said an armed officer with a gun was seen near a home near the Anslow area at around 10pm on Monday.

The passer-by also saw three or four police dog unit vans.

They were driving towards Hatton when they passed the scene and said: “I was driving past about 10.30pm last night when I saw a lot of police activity.

“There were police dog unit vans parked up and I saw an armed officer with a large gun standing near the driveway to a large house.

“I don’t know if the house was involved, they were just standing near it as I passed by.

“There were also dog units parked up down the road.

“It looked serious to me. I was surprised to see all that activity in such a quiet area normally. I hope everyone is OK.”

Another member of the public saw armed police in her back garden while a police helicopter circled above.
